Taking the Lead
‘Taking the Lead’ is a leadership programme aimed at new managers and those about to make the move into a management role for the first time. It is a blended development programme that provides individuals with an understanding of the fundamental components of effective management and leadership.
Through blended (virtual) learning and live practice (role-play) with actors, ‘Taking the Lead’ develops manager’s confidence to deal with issues that will arise in everyday people management situations and gives them the skills needed to deliver the work of the team, through the team…effectively.
‘Taking the Lead’ has been designed to show what the ‘Toyota Way’ values mean to Toyota Managers and deliver key skills in coaching, performance management, feedback, empowerment, delegation and managing change.
The programme concludes with the completion of a project, which is presented to Senior Managers, to demonstrate how the individuals have put their learning into practice in the work place, the results they have achieved and to really show how they have become a more effective manager.
